WEELKY UPDATE (Nov. 9 – 15)

This week is a busy week:

Wednesday I’m playing right here where I live,  Lowe’s City mobile home park, for our annual Fall pool party but it looks like it’ll be inside due to the weather.

Thursday I’ll be a Mission Hills condos in Clearwater. (Call Vickie @ 727-669-0890 to see if she’s got tickets available)

Friday – Lake Seminole R/V Resort (This is usually open to the public. Call Linda @ 727-392-0285 for tickets)

Saturday I’m at Bel Aire mobile home park inLargo. (I’m trying to get some tickets for this one, too. Call me (727-527-8559) and I’ll see what I can do.)

…and Sunday I’ll be at Five Towns condos. (I’m pretty sure this is a private affair put on by their Social Committee)

Because it’s early in the season, and a lot of the snowbirds are not here yet, most of the dances I play at are open to the public, but you need tickets. If you see some place you’d like to go, call me and I’ll see if I can get you some.

BIKE TRIP TO TALLAHASSEE

We went to Tallahassee this past weekend to watch our grandson play soccer (They won!) and did a little sight-seeing along the way.

WEEKLY UPDATE (Nov. 2-8)

A slow week this week: I’m at the Shady Lane Oaks mobile home park Friday night from 8 ’til ll pm . I’m not sure if Sam is going to open the dance to the public, but if you’re interested in going, you might call him at: 727-539-7101. You can click on the link above to get directions.

Saturday morning we’re off on the motorcycle to Tallahassee to watch our grandson play soccer.

Speaking of grandkids…check out my grandson Nick (he’s the one in the middle) dressed as one of the Beatles for Halloween. They one first place in a  costume contest at  his high school.

WEEKLY UPDATE (Oct.26-Nov.1)

Things start to heat up this week now that the Snowbirds are starting to come back. Halloween is Saturday, and I’m booked at several parties:

Wednesday night I’m at the Golden Gate mobile home park.

Friday night I’m at the Elks Lodge in Dunedin, and…

Saturday night I’ll be at the Mainlands (Unit 5)

…all Halloween parties. So put on you spooky costumes and come on out.

Ranchero Village’s “Cruse Breakfast Club”

Every year, the good folks at Ranchero Village con me into (don’t ask me how!) singing at their annual breakfast meeting at the  Acropol Restaurant in Largo at 8 o’clock in the morning!!!  As you can see, it’s always a lot of laughs, and I look forward to it every year…even if I have to get up with the birds!

WEEKLY UPDATE (Oct. 19-25)

A slow week this week…and a great time to throw open the windows,  let some of this gorgeous, cool air into the house and do some ’spring cleaning’  before the season hits.

Saturday night (Oct. 24) I’ll be at the Elks Lodge in Pinellas Park for their annual “Western Night” Dinner/Dance…always a lot of fun! Tickets must be purchased for this event in advance ($10 per person). If you can’t get to the Lodge to purchase tickets, call me (527-8559) or e-mail me (carlo637@aol.com) and I’ll see if I can get them for you and have them waiting at the door for you.  So,  ya’ll put on you boots and hat and come boot-scootin’ with us!

WEEKLY UPDATE (Oct. 12-18)

Tuesday (Oct.13) I’m gonna be at the Acropol Restaurant on Starky from 8 until 9 AM…that’s right…AM! It’s Ranchero Village’s  anual “Cruz Breakfast Club” gathering. Always a a fun gig, but sorry folks, it’s private.

Another private affair I’m doing is on Friday night (Oct. 16) at the La Quinta in Clearwater for David Soderland’s Navy buddies.

Saturday night (Oct. 17) I’m at the VFW in Clearwater from 6 ’til 9pm for their “Homeless Veterans” Dinner. If you haven’t been to the ‘new and improved VFW’, you ought to check it out. They’ve really spruced up the place, knocking down walls and putting in new tables, etc.  Come on out and party with us, all for a great cause.

Back Home in Sunny Florida!

I have some good news and some bad news…The good news is: we arrived back in Florida safely after a week-long motorcycle trip to the mountains of North Carolina and Virginia. The bad news is: someone stole my wife Sandra’s laptop computer from the hotel we stayed in on our last night on the road. In addition to all her work and school related material she had on it, I also had downloaded all of the great pictures I took on our trip that I was going to share with you all! A pretty sucky way to end a real nice trip, if you ask me.

I hope the as*h@le that stole it is enjoying it. You should have stole the power chord too, ’cause the battery will only last you a couple hours or so. If you e-mail me back all the pictures on it, I’ll send you the power chord…no questions asked!

Having a great time…

We were going to head back home this morning, but I think we’ll give it another day. Looks like the rain may stop later today.

We made it!

We made it to Victoria , Virginia! What a great ride, too. The weather was perfect….a little chilly in the morning, but it warmed up nice as the day went on.

Victoria is where my mother was born…a little farming community about 60 miles due south of Richmond. Dad was stationed  near by at Camp Pickett during WW2. Mom worked at the drug store here and would go to Camp Pickett to dance with the soldiers on weekends. They met and, as mom tells the story: He followed me home and I couldn’t get ride of him. When he asked me to marry him, I saw my ticket out of that “one horse town”! So, I said ‘yes’ and… the rest is history.

We’ll be leaving here Monday morning and heading to the mountains of N. Carolina
