ABOUT ME

I was born in Gloucester, Massachusetts to an Italian Gloucester fisherman and a Scotts/Irish southern belle from Virginia in July of 1949. While attending Gloucester High School, I was the lead singer in a very popular local band called “The Kandymen”. In  2010, I had the great pleasure of performing with them again aboard a Whale Watching boat in Gloucester and a Carnival Cruise ship in the Bahamas.  After high school, I joined the U.S. Navy and served aboard the U.S.S.Sturgeon, a nuclear powered, fast-attack submarine, for 4 years and currently belong to the TANG Base Submarine Veterans group in Pinellas Park, Florida.  I came to Florida in 1978 (at the start of the great “Blizzard of ’78″) to play at the Holiday Inn on St. Pete Beach. After 4 years, I moved up the beach to the Bilmar Beach Resort on Treasure Island and was the “house band” there (along with Norma and various other entertainers) for 18 years. About 10 years ago, I got into the mobile home/condo circuit and, at last count,  I now perform at 60 mobile home and condo communities in the west central Florida area.

In May of 2010 I found Jesus…in a bar, of all places!…and now ride with the “Posse”,  the Salvation Saloon’s motorcycle ministry in Palm Harbor, Florida where  I now live with my lovely wife Sandra who is originally from Scotland. God has blessed Sandra and I with 6 wonderful kids and 14 (at last count) grandkids! I hope you enjoy looking at all the pictures I’ve posted here and use this blog to keep track of where I’m performing. God bless!

    • Come on down!
It’s funny…I was going to do this until I figured out what I wanted to be when I grew up, but one day I woke up and I WAS all grown up! I do enjoy it, though, and I’ve met some wonderful people and got to visit some great places along the way.

  2. Hi Carlo,
Remember Joe from Chicago who hates N.Y. music? Had to move back to WI last year, but will be “snow birding” the winter of 2012. We will be sure to look for you at the Dunedin Elks and Dunedin Legion. We miss your music and all the fun we had. See you soon!

    • Yeh, of course I remember. I had heard you had to go home for awhile. Look forward to seeing you next season. I play quite often in Dunedin now…I moved to Palm Harbor last November…so I’m sure I’ll see you somewhere up here. I joined the New Port Richie Elks, and I’m trying to ‘get my foot in the door’ to play there. It’s a beautiful lodge!…very big. Have a great summer. Say hello to the guy from New York…I mean Chicago for me.
